Baby Shower! (11/14/09)

hi! Well I can't believe it is Christmas Eve and I am just now able to get on my blog!! I have a computer again! Yeah!
This is a picture from a baby shower held for me by some GREAT friends I have made through work! The cupcakes were so good and there was one big one for me with a baby on it that could have been a little Meera!
I am so lucky to have so many good people in my life! Thank God!
I have recieved so many new photos of Meera in the past 2 months, and I should say that Bob and I will hopefully be going to get Meera in mid January!!!
We are going to be celebrating Meera's 1st birthday on Monday! Wish she was here. At least she doesn't know she is missing anything, right! I will make it up to her.
Now that Bob is home, we can do a few more things for Meera's homecoming. I just got her bedding in and it is soooo cute.
I am sorry for not getting updates out!
Merry Christmas!!!!

Here's looking at you kid!

I can't say thanks enough to Traci for taking this photo while at the children's home!! Look at baby's sweet little profile:-) ! This was right around Meera's 10 month birthday. Makes me want to hop on that plane fast!!
I am so thankful there are others like myself and Bob that want to have a child through adoption!! I don't regret any part of this journey. Seeing my child's face and her being held and loved makes me so happy. I am praying scrutinization is done this week!!

New pictures of Meera!

Her she is!! Miss M! Gotta love those eyes. Meera was just fed and it looks like her Aya is getting her cleaned up. Pictures like this one make me really want to get Meera home ! Can't wait to let her hair grow long and
and dress her in some of the nice clothes my mom and friends have sent. ;-)

NOC granted!

Hi! Well, last Thursday was a great day. I got the email from Tami saying Meera recieved her NOC and the orphanage director said her papers were already going on to the Calcutta courts for scrutinization!! What a process. We are so pleased. The email brought a rush of tears of joy to me!! I can't wait to squeeze her little cheeks and stare into those big brown eyes!
Some friends are throwing a baby shower for for me(us) in November!! Can't wait! It's great to know friends and family care so much.
I would love to know how big she is now. With holiday over now everyone can get back to work over there!:-) lol! Updates for all waiting families are in store right! Don't get me wrong, there are times when I wish the US celebrated more! I would love to experience a holiday in Calcutta!!

Frustrated!

I know other Mom to Be's have felt this way, right! I just want a decent new photo and some kind of update on my baby....who just turned 9 months old yesterday!!!!
How much does she weigh, what is she doing now, what is her height, anything, something!!!
Don't get me wrong, I know those babies are well cared for and I know it is not always convenient for the orphanage employees to help gather this information. However, with all the money and effort that has been provided to bring our child, Meera home, am I asking too much?!
God must really be feeding a line of hope and patience directly into my very soul!! That doesn't mean I can't have days like these though(when I want to pull out my hair because I feel like everything is in limbo).
I'm sorry for whining. On a good note, all that fabrics I have been staring at for the past 6 months or so is finally being made into some delightful bedding for Meera! I added a paisley too! Can't wait to post a pic of it. Should be done by Halloween. Having gone back to 12 hour shifts has helped pay more and hopefully save a little before we go to India.
It's good to hear so many of us Dillon families are going to be united with our babies soon!! I love hearing the good news.
Have a great day! I will try to do the same. God bless!!

Ahhhh...Article 5 finally!!!! Now off to get our NOC!

Hi everyone! Things have been so hectic lately! We are now going into the blessed NOC process. I pray it doesn't take too long. Our baby is going on 9 months...I can't beleive it. :( I am so sad that I can't hold and love on her yet. She is so beautiful to me. Bob and I have decided on a name.......Meera!!!!
"Light", and Prosperous, and also Merry are 3 of the meanings. I love it.
Say prayers for all of us!!!!!!!

Baby Jaba

Thank you everybody for your support! Here is a picture of Jaba taken in early June. Jaba is almost 6 months in this picture! She was born on Dec. 28th! :) We haven't decided on a name yet. I will definatly keep everybody up to date on the process. Hopefully, we will go to India to get her before the New Year!!! But like Tami said, we will expect the worst case which would mean we travel in Jan. or Feb. ?
I just can't beleive this day is here. To say yesterday was a special day is an understatement. I can't wait to meet her face to face! I have had so many dreams about a baby that I hoped was mine ...someday. Not long before getting a phonecall about Jaba I had a dream of a little girl who's face I could clearly see. She looked alot like Jaba. I know it sounds far fetched...but I know some of you will understand. There's more. I just don't want to spill all my guts right now. lol! I am just praying that Jaba stays healthy and continues to grow stronger. God Bless her!! I knew she was the one. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. To everyone who gets this post, remember life is waiting for you but only if you're ready to take the next leap(of faith)!
Goodnight.

Bob and I were ready to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary today, and low and behold ...we got an email from Tami from Dillon !! We recieved an update on a 6 month old baby girl we have been considering for the past month. :) What a surprise and joy! I am so happy and scared at the same time to say that my hsband and I have accepted a referral of a baby girl named Jaba!! She is putting right along in her growth and development and she is really cute. We are of course keeping her close to our hearts that she stays well and keeps growing.
We will keep everyone posted. Hopefully someone going to the children's home soon will get some good pictures!! ;)Please say a prayer for Jaba!!

Hey! I'm still alive!

I must apologize for getting so lazy with this blog and keeping in touch! Have had alot of distractions lately. Hoping the sun will be out for the whole weekend!! Memorial weekend was a blast, floating down the Buffalo River, camping and yes, eating SMORES! Mmmmmm!
Bob and I are now up to #5! I am getting more nervous with each step. I know we have a ways to go{feel a bit like a broken record} before meeting our child for the first time. I play that out in my head all the time! What an experience meeting and holding her will be!
We have my old toy chest fixed up and are trying to paint the room....can't decide on color. Summer is here, Thank god! Looking forward to bike rides and hiking, let's not forget all those cook outs!!
Love, Seneca :)

Great News...

Hi everyone! This past week, Bob and I found out we are now at #6 on the waiting list for our little babe!! I really appreciate the boost it gave me when I got that reply from Dillon. I wasn't expecting anything. :0) I am a little nervous, feeling like I am walking on a ledge sometimes with all this adoption excitement. I am still keeping all my fellow blog/adoption buddies in my prayers, daily. I am hoping now that the Cards are back on the field, I will be somewhat distracted from the worries, ha ha, yeah right!! This spring has been beautiful. When I see all the flowers coming up, and the seeds I have sowed sprouting, I think about our daughter to be. Where is she in her phase of life? How bright and new her face will be to me.....like a flower in full bloom.
Well, I will try to bring more pics and updates soon. Bye for now. Hope eveyone is having a great weekend. Looking forward to Easter!

Fabric swatches....

These are some fabric swatches I hope to use in the baby's room.:) The vine and animal print is for the crib set or a chair and the stripe is for the trim/piping. The fuzzy trim is for a funky pillow or something. We found a good crib for a good price, but haven't bought it yet. I don't know about some of my other blogger buds who are adopting, but all the pics and news about babies soon to get home is driving me crazy!! Don't get me wrong, I am so happy for anyone who is going through this when they finally get to see and hold their new son or daughter!!I'm so glad you all share too. I am just feeling like time is going so slow, yet March is already here. How many more months for us...urrrr! All in all, I can't complain. Today I planted some lillies, the sun was shining...! I am ready for warmer weather, I miss working outside.
Maybe I have a little cabin fever..lol!
Bye for now, God Bless!!

still waiting!

WOW! Can't believe it has been just over a year since we started this journey!! Like many others I know, the adoption journey is one of great joy but equally frustrating...right!? I remember when Bob and I went to our first adoption meeting in I believe 2004, yah, that seems like forever ago now. Everyone at the meeting was so interested in adopting from Vietnam and South Korea. Don't get me wrong, I was too, but I was also so intrigued by what was and wasn't said about the India program. Well, here I am now 5 years later, so much has happened, and happier than ever to be dreaming about the daughter I so badly wish to hold and love, and play with. I feel so lucky. I just can't wait!!! The dream is going to come true and baby girl is just around the corner. I can feel it in the air! I know god gives you what he knows you can handle. I know this is meant to be:) !
Now, if I can just be as patient as my husband...men are so different. :)
lots of love & God bless!

20 January 2009

Hi!

I am so hopeful today!!! The inauguration of Barrack Obama is I pray a dawning of a new era, breaking free of the past eight years and a huge step in breaking down the walls of prejudice and racism(of all people, not just african american)! Even if you didn't vote for him, who can deny the historical significance of this day. Jubilation, reverence, euphoria, democracy, unity are a few words that come to my mind!
I feel like our daughter to be will have less chance of being treated differently because of the color of her skin or how she "looks". She will know that this country is a place where anyone can succeed, regardless of race, sex,or religion! God knows this President will have his work cut out for him. I pray that good things are to come! I hope the soldiers get to leave Iraq, soon. I hope people take the energy and optimism of today and incorporate it into their daily lives. God Bless:)

Happy 2009!

Bring on the good news!! I am saying Goodbye to 08', and moving on. I know this is going to be a good year for me, at least I am determined to believe that!! Spending time with family this past weekend was a good way to welcome the New Year. New Years Eve came with no bumps in the road and no tears....I usually get really sad:) I am just going to be as patient as I can waiting for baby girl. She is on my mind all the time. I pray that good health and financial support keep coming this year. I am also keeping prayers for my friends in the adoption process,as well as for, those close to me who need good news and love in their life;)
Bye for now!
